Security in Ludopoly is not a single mechanism but a layered discipline. The protocol addresses potential vulnerabilities through cryptographic guarantees at the base layer, operational controls at the infrastructure layer, and community-driven governance at the social layer.

The protocol implements a three-layer circuit breaker system. At the broadest level, the entire zero-knowledge verification system can be halted to contain the impact of an undiscovered vulnerability. At an intermediate level, operators can freeze a specific game room without affecting any other room in the system. At the most granular level, individual action types — such as treasure claims — can be suspended while other game functions continue normally.

This hierarchy means that a problem discovered in one corner of the system need not bring everything to a standstill. The response can be precisely targeted and proportional.

Social conduct within game rooms is governed by a decentralised moderation system. Players who observe misconduct can initiate a proposal through the community governance contract, and other community members vote on the appropriate response. The system supports a graduated range of penalties: a formal warning that reduces a player's reputation score, a chat restriction that prevents further disruption in room communication, a gameplay suspension, and in the most serious cases, permanent removal from a room. These decisions are executed on-chain, meaning they cannot be reversed by a single administrator and are transparent to the entire community.

Because every player account is a soul-bound non-transferable NFT, reputation is permanent. A player who behaves badly cannot simply abandon their address and create a fresh identity. This design makes the social incentives of Ludopoly self-reinforcing: protecting your reputation is a rational long-term strategy, and the community moderation system makes the cost of misconduct real and lasting.
